The picture perfect view…
Places to explore.
This year saw us photograph for the very first time at Ohio Barn Bed and Breakfast in Fairborn, Ohio. This is without a doubt, a beautifully versatile venue that showcases a wide range of “cool light” and opportunities for both texture and composition. Regardless of the weather, you can find the light you’re looking for and also explore an incredible variety of areas. Here’s a little sample from Ginny & Drew’s day.
There are multiple choices for getting ready, both at the barn and the other house on the property. In our case with Ginny & Drew’s day, the main rooms under the barn were our studio for getting ready. The room that Ginny was getting ready in was perfect for not only her getting ready, but also details and portraits.
The room that Drew was getting ready in on the other side from Ginny, proved to have beautiful, dramatic light.
Then of course, there is the barn itself. Plenty of character and light to work with. Natural light photographers will work well in this space. The roughly east and west opposite facing doors provide not only an expansive amount of light, but also provide both dramatic and softly lit angles.
Of course, one of the must have photo spots is the overlook onto the outdoor ceremony space. It’s a perfect photo op from below.
…and maybe from inside too if you see the right moment .
The back half of the property is loaded with opportunity….from the additional barn, green spaces, the other house and also the old brick ruins. Whether you have a little time or a lot for photos for both the couple and the bridal party, there are plenty of options. In a short period of time, we explored as much of a variety as we could. Color…textures…composition.
A few more from the ceremony area and barn.
